Upon first meeting Valkyrie, you’d assume she is the run-of-the-mill tabby. But it turns out, she has special skills. Not only is she a world-class huntress and top-notch biscuit maker (i.e. kneading legs, pillows, blankets, etc.), but she is also the hostess supreme.
A couple months into our hosting venture, we began getting comments about her in the guest book. Good comments thankfully, and then some drawings and mentions (by name) in our reviews. We were surprised she would be so friendly with complete strangers but she has the sweetest nature, so it wasn’t too far of the mark.
what makes valkyrie a hostess supreme?
For starters, Valkyrie is kind and friendly. But her real hostessing talent lies in how she guides guests around the property. After all, a good hostess helps guests get acquainted with their surroundings. She escorts them from the parking area to the cabin, down to the shower, over to the fire pit and anywhere else they want to go. It’s adorable and guests simply love her.

fun FACTS
- Valkyrie is roughly 5 years old (as of 2025)
- She is primarily outdoors, and likes it that way. A couple times a week she’ll come in to say hello.
- She loves killing mice and can’t resist a Cheeto.
- Primary hunting time is early morning.
- She will knead anything like a savage. She’s destroyed several pants, so be warned.
what if i don’t like cats or have allergies?
We understand not everyone is a cat person. One rule we enforce is that she is not allowed in the cabin. We do this to protect any future guests who have allergies.
Valkyrie is primarily an outdoor cat. If she spots guests, she’ll usually say hello. She can be sent away with a loud ‘PSSSST!’ That almost always does the job.
Safe travels,
Rob & Natalie
